Udyr Rework loses his unique antlers
As with all of the League of Legends champions, Udyr had to have a unique silhouette. Udyr almost had antlers, as shown in this progression of his model in development. Character artist Jason “OOYOO” Namgung decided to rid Udyr of his antlers.

“We want to upgrade Udyr’s visuals to modern League standards while keeping his general theme of a warrior shaman intact. Our goal is to build on Udyr’s visuals, not reinvent them,” Reav3 added. Riot Games Udyr’s theme and lore are being updated to modern standards, but his identity won’t change.

It turns out that Urgot was once the prized headsman (fancy word for executioner) of none other than Noxus. He was strong and prided himself on the stack of bodies that he had created for his country, eliminating Noxus’ enemies one axe swing at a time.
